“Corporate Catfish: How to Spot Fake Leaders Before You Hire Them”

Some leaders are basically corporate catfish.

They should come with a warning label:

“Great in interviews. Useless in execution.”

On paper they’re a dream hire.

In interviews? Smooth enough to make a Zoom glitch sound like strategy.

But then day 1 hits…

You realize you didn’t hire a leader.

You hired a TED Talk. 🎙️

They can spin strategy until your ears bleed,

but when it’s time to actually lead?

Crickets. 🔇

Half your org is confused.

The other half is polishing their LinkedIn profiles.

Boards, please stop falling for shiny resumes and buzzword bingo!🥱

Next time just call the people who had to work under them for a reference, NOT the people that sat beside them.

That’s where the truth hides.

LinkedIn won’t tell you if your new exec ever touched the weeds, or just admired them from the balcony. 🍃
